Beg to differ on the use of SaaS by larger corporates- I think it will increase, based on:

1. Increasing cuts to IT Capex-based projects
2. Positioning of SaaS applications as tools that reduce overall costs/increase efficiency
3. Increasing sophistication by clients when assessing SaaS security (and ability of vendors to provide that security)

I agree with Chris; I believe that SaaS is just warming up.

Here are some great stats:
> $95 Billion Market by 2011 (Gartner)

> By 2012, more than 66% of ISV's will offer their applications optionally or exclusively as SaaS (Gartner)

> Over $900 Million Currently Invested in SaaS by VCs (up 27% since 2007)

Very interesting article. However, your link to the Larry Ellison article is wrong - it points to the Harry Debes article. Can you send me the link to the Oracle article you were referencing?

I think SaaS is just warming up. The large corporate space will always be different but for small and micro business, SaaS is the future. Small users may have small budgets but they have complex needs. SaaS can answer that. It's almost like being in a group insurance policy. My SaaS application, Time59, targets solo professionals.
